These actions are aimed to promote the use of <strong>breast-milk as exclusive food during the first six months of baby&#8217;s life,<\/strong> and as a complementary food until the second year of life.<\/p>\n<p>The amendment seeks to promote direct food aid, to<strong> improve the nutritional status of the mother-infant group<\/strong>, and the installation of <strong>breastfeeding<\/strong> areas in different workplaces, both public and private sectors.<\/p>\n<p>The decree stipulates that the Ministry of Health will establish regulations for the installation and operation of the <strong>breastfeeding areas<\/strong>, within a period not exceeding one hundred eighty business days from December 20.<\/p>\n<p>The actions needed to implement this reform by the departments or agencies of the Federal Government will be subjected to the economic availability, which had to be previously approved for that purpose in the Expenditure Budget of the Federation.<\/p>\n<p>The second decree adds some specifications in the sectors of the population entitled to social assistance, which include: orphaned children and adolescents, women in <strong>gestational period and lactation<\/strong>, teenage mothers, plus single mothers with children in their care under eighteen years of age.
