All members coincided in the importance of a prompt approval of the initiative, which includes the following elements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish vaccination as a right.<\/li>\n<li>Set vaccines as an input of national security.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen the leading role of the <strong>National Immunization Council.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Otorgar a las vacunas el car\u00e1cter de insumos de seguridad nacional.<\/li>\n<li>Fortalecer el papel conductor del\u00a0<strong>Consejo Nacional de Vacunaci\u00f3n<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure labeled products for acquisition, distribution and application of vaccines included in the <strong>National Vaccination Schedule<\/strong> every year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dr. Tapia Conyer, in the Lecture <strong><em>\u2018The Value of Vaccines for Public Health\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, stated that &#8220;despite the great advances that Mexico has, there are areas for improvement on vaccination, so it is essential to promote legislative projects like this from the civil society.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized the need to strengthen a legal framework to prevent backtracking in public health achievements and encourage innovation in research and new drugs to eradicate other diseases. &#8220;We cannot rest on our laurels, we need to be sensitive to innovation. In this vaccination scheme, there is no place for mediocrities, because it impacts on the health of people,&#8221; said Roberto Tapia.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>LGS<\/strong> reform should compel state and municipal authorities to fulfill with the responsibility of ensuring vaccination.
