For the third consecutive year, the Zocalo (principal square) of Mexico City became the venue of the country’s largest digital inclusion: Aldea Digital (Digital Village) Telcel 4GLTE-Infinitum. From 10 to 26 of July, visitors will enjoy more than 30 workshops, conferences of international leaders in technology, digital experiences, and many other activities that will take place in the 20,000 square meters that compromise la Plaza de la Constitution.
In this 2015 edition, Telmex, Telcel and Carlos Slim Foundation renewed their commitment to promote digital learning and job training. Regardless of previous educational level or knowledge, visitors will enjoy an impressive technological infrastructure and cutting-edge equipment for free, with 100Gbps Internet connection.
At Aldea Digital Telcel 4GLTE-Infinitum, children, youth and adults have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits offered by Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to improve their quality of life.
Among many things, users will find a Data Portal (Selfie moment), which is a transitional space between the outside world and the Aldea Digital. It is an attractive facility that promotes the use of mobile devices to share photos from the Aldea.
La Nube (The Cloud) exemplifies the overall concept of digital storage “in the air”. In this place visitors will be invited to take themselves a photo, reflecting their mood. Based on this photo an emoticon will be created and appear on a big LEDS screen at the center of the Aldea, and can be shared on networks.
