Psychosocial model for Palliative Care
33 health professionals trained.
Involving 1,127 patients and 1,494 family members
MODEL THAT PROVIDES support for terminal patients and their families, as well as providing training for the health professionals involved in their treatment and the corresponding grieving process. This model’s principal objective is improving the care quality of terminal patients and their family members.
Moreover, the model aims to generate palliative care knowledge and make it available for other institutions, in order to help more people and improve their life quality during their final days.
To achieve this we work with:
◗ The National Institute of Cancer, through an integrated care model to improve the quality of life of terminal patients and their families.
◗ The National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition “Salvador Zubirán”, with research protocols on psychology, psychiatry and thanatology to generate evidence and experience on palliative care.
◗ “La Caixa” Foundation that shares with us their experience on the Spanish palliative care model.
◗ Inbursa Foundation provides financial support, important to funding the project.
